Tonight, Monday, October 14, between 6-8 PM Northside DFA will be holding a fundraiser at the Filament Theater, 4041 N. Milwaukee, Chicago. It's in the Six Corners neighborhood of the 45th Ward (Ald. John Arena committeeman).
The basic ticket is $60 though there is a student/activist rate where up to three people can go for $60.
Ald. John Arena invited Gov. Pat Quinn to speak. There will be a number of other elected officials, current candidates and past candidates there.
The mission of Northside DFA is to elect socially progressive, fiscally responsible and ethically committed Democrats to all levels of government. NDFA does this by getting members to volunteer on campaigns of endorsed and adopted candidates.
NDFA voting members choose which candidates to endorse and adopt. To be a voting member one has to volunteer on three campaign activities in the last year and attend at least two monthly meetings and do two other activities (monthly meeting or other).
NDFA is a true grassroots organization. All meetings are open to the public. The steering committee is comprised of eight volunteers.
You are invited to the fundraiser and to contribute even if you can't attend.
